“Northmead is located in the north-west of the Sydney metropolitan area in New South Wales, Australia. The population of Northmead was 10,873 as of the 2016 census. The suburb is within the local government area of The Hills Shire. Northmead is bordered by Constitution Hill and Winston Hills to the north, Baulkham Hills to the east, Parklea and Plumpton to the south, and Glenwood to the west.
The suburb was named after Northmead House, which was built by John Horsley in 1834. The house was located on what is now known as Old Windsor Road. The first land grant in the area was made to John Blaxland in 1801. The suburb began to be developed in the 1950s.”
