“Carlton is located in the north-western suburbs of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. The population of Carlton was 1,563 as of the 2016 census. Carlton is within the local government area of the City of Blacktown. The suburb is bordered by Doonside and Woodcroft to the east, Lalor Park to the south, and Seven Hills and Kings Park to the west.
The history of Carlton can be traced back to 1817 when John Macarthur was granted 5,000 acres (20 km2) in the area. The first land grant in the area was made to James Ruse in 1794. Development in Carlton began in earnest in the 1950s when subdivisions were created on what was then farmland. The first house in Carlton was built in 1955.”
