“Bondi is located in the eastern suburbs of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. The population of Bondi is approximately 13,236. The suburb is situated on the Pacific Ocean and is part of the Waverley Council local government area.
Bondi was named after James Bondi, an early landowner in the area. The first house in the area was built by Daniel Cooper in 1827. Bondi was proclaimed a municipality in 1859. In 1889, it became a part of the City of Sydney. In 1948, it was amalgamated into the Municipality of Waverley.
